Mike Wood the former Palma based yachtie had his appeal against his 10-year sentence for smuggling illegal immigrants reduced to 4 years on the lesser charge of being an accomplice.
According to his family he will immediately appeal again because the judges ignored the prosecution’s statement (on full investigation by Greece’s special internal police) that Wood had no case to answer.
Either way he should be released later this year having served more than one year in jail.
Wood has always denied any guilt and claimed that he was tricked and coerced into taking the immigrants from Turkey to Greece.
