This month I have two new’ places to recommend you trying.
Es Reco de Genova is one of the newest restaurants in the area and is well worth a visit.
For meat lovers try the ‘chuleton de buey’ (13.50 Euros) which comes on a sizzling plate for you to cook it to your taste. The baby lamb chops are also to be recommended.
Nice to see a restaurant charging sensible prices for their wines with Vina Sol priced at 6.50
Take the Genova / San Agustin exit from the motorway and look out for their car park on the right just as you enter the village.

The second is ‘Gingers’ bar (formerly the Irish Rover) in Portals Nous village opposite the hotel Marina.
Recently taken over by Ricky and Nicky it’s been refurbished and during the day they are offering bagettes with various exotic fillings.
Being the only local bar with a ‘live music licence’ they are arranging various musicians to entertain their customers. On Wednesdays they have a quiz night, Thursdays, Mike Jones’ ‘tribute to Elvis’; Fridays 50s and 60s music with Ronnie Clarke and week-ends with guest appearances.
