Without any warning, on the morning of Friday 5th September the Real Club Nautico Palma, which was leading Palma´s bid to hold the next Amrica´s Cup, received an email informing them that Palma had been dropped from the list of candidates leaving Valencia as the only Spanish challenger left.
No explanation was, or to date has been given.
