Three months is all that remains to remove and replace any Halon fire extinguishing systems in boats!
Under the terms of the Treaty of Montreal and subsequent EEC law all existing Halon systems must be removed and ecologically destroyed before the 31st December 2003.
The approved replacement gas for these applications is called FM200.
These new extinguishers are, like the ones to be replaced, self-contained, automatic and manual operation are supplied in an easy to fit complete unit.
Local safety company, O.S. can supply new extinguishers and take care of the destruction of Halon gas as required under the law.
