There is a new company here in Palma very intent on making big waves in the yachting community; it s called 3sixty Solutions s.l. Its director is Carlos Zevallos ex-Boat Yard Palma.
Under the company name of 3sixty Solutions s.l. which Carlos formed last March he began ‘PROJECT 3SIXTY’ a project management company. Under this banner Carlos has already overseen work on, MY Solemates and White Haven, and they have other projects on the way and under tender.
3sixty’s principles are very simple; they represent their client and no-one else, and keep themselves completely independent. They use the sub-contractors/companies they think best suited or best able to complete the work as necessary.
They do not take any commissions from anyone at anytime. They bill the client solely on the time spent on the project. This is paid completely separately, and all other invoices are given direct to the owner/Captain from the sub-contractor.
The fees are negotiated with the client to give him a choice of billing methods, for example an hourly rate or a daily rate based on the size of the boat. It’s their policy to keep themselves independent at all times when dealing with the myriad of problems that can, and often do arise during the re-fit / maintenance period. This enables them to represent the client fully and give him a trustworthy project manager.
At the beginning of October they employed Mike Sizeland, (ex chief engineer with Paraiso and Constellation) Mike expands the amount of work they can secure, and doubles as an in-house Surveyor. He completed The International Institute of Marine Surveyors Diploma course in September 2002 and became an associate member. He is now pursuing his master’s degree.
Project 3sixty has already dealt with various claims for a very large insurance company and they hope to expand on this having already had meetings with other companies.
