LOCAL CLUBS FEAR MIGRATION
FROM THE BALEARICS

Bartomeu Bestard, the president of the local marina association, ANADE has warned that the new port law (48/2003) has brought in a series of taxes that at worst (concessions differ) will increase club costs by 74% and by 63% in most cases.

For this reason the association have warned that this hike in prices, will eventually have to be borne by the yacht owners to a major extent. This, according to ANADE will make other Mediterranean marinas such as in Catalunya and Andalucia and looking further afield, Greece, Croatia and Turkey look far more economic areas for yachtsmen to keep their vessels.

The fifteen local marinas effected are within the Alcudia, Palma, Ibiza town, Mahon and Formentera ports. SEE- “MOORING COSTS” ON THIS PAGE
