It is said that when one door shuts, another opens. This could not be more true down in Puerto Portals with the closure of the Squadron Bar and the opening of Karma.
On the back-line next to ‘Banderas’ a considerable amount of investment has seen the creation of a very stylish bar/ restaurant in the day and a full blown disco/ nightclub at night.
During the day, as the Squadron did, Karma will offer a range of food from a full breakfast from 8.50 to a basket of croissants and rolls for 4.50 Euros.
From midday a range of sandwiches, an 18 item ‘tid bit’ menu ranging from 4.50 to 9.00 Euros plus (again from midday) a selection of 13 ‘lunch’ dishes ranging from 9.00 to 16.00 Euros are available.
From 16:00hrs they offer what they call ‘afternoon delights’ of tea with scones or toasted tea-cakes or strawberries and champagne.
They will also (as did the Squadron) offer a ‘special Sunday lunch’ and the wide-screen TVs will be following all the sports action. In the evenings the kitchen is closed.
The inside bar is kitted out with the latest sound and lights equipment with a resident DJ and live music till the wee hours- all fully soundproofed.
The terrace bar is very tastefully decorated with plenty of seating at tables and the draped fabric ceiling adding an extra ‘chic dimension’.
Karma also has a separate ‘VIP lounge’which offers wine and spirits (mixers on the house) by the bottle and a selection of cocktails. (If you don’t finish your bottles of spirits they are labelled as yours for your next visit.)
So if you’re in the area during the day and feel hungry or thirsty or in the evening to chill out you must give this new joint a visit; ‘I´m sure you’ll be impressed.
