The Balearic port authority have recently published a range of fines for speeding within the port areas.
One interesting and important clause is that if the owner of the speeding vessel is not a Spanish resident the vessel can be immediately impounded.
Another clause of this new law is that if there is any third party damage due to excessive speed or from a wake produced by speeding an immediate 1,500 Euro fine will be applied to the offending vessel.
The table below sets out the different amounts of fine for differing speeds over the 1 knot limit.

Like road traffic fines, there is a 30% discount if the fine is paid within 72 hours of its issue.
