John,
As you know I recently sold Flores Paseo Maritimo. I just wanted you to know that of all the advertising media I tried including very glossy and very expensive, The Islander produced by far the best results for the florists shop. Frequently on board superyachts the publication was lying around in the galley.... says it all I think. Quite unusually in my experience of advertising, we could tangibly quantify the result of spending just 75 Euros a month with you. Embracing the return of English buyers to the property market and my often mis-spent youth in estate agency around the Sandbanks area of England, I have now decided to open a new Estate Agency in Mallorca.... and like everything else I do it will be different. Itīs called Azure and the office is next to Sa Masia restaurant on the hill between Santa Ponsa and Paguera. This will eventually become the new roundabout motorway exit. Drop in if you are passing (plenty of parking outside), because I am thinking that The Islander may also be a good medium for advertising water front properties.
Kind Regards, Chris Wearden
Dear John
Yacht chartering in Spain for foreign flag yachts is illegal, except for yachts which have paid Matriculation Tax. Therefore charter yachts from 20-50 metres avoid visiting Spain. The net result for Spain, in particular the Balearic Islands is a considerable loss of income to the country, the shops, restaurants, bars and other places of entertainment. France and Italy, large maritime nations also in the EU and adjacent to Spain welcome foreign flag charter yachts to their country, and it is very apparent how the local economy has improved in those countries. Spain does not have its own yacht charter industry, so why not permit foreign flag yachts to charter in your waters and you will soon see the benefits to the local economy. Act now!
Best regards,
Michael Lane, Yachting Partners Inter.
